Swedish meatballs med Lingon

Me and my siblings went to see Carl Einar Häckner on Monday night at the Saga theatre in my little town. Carl Einar Häckner is a Swedish comedian/magician and it was H-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s ! I was cracking up in tears throughout the entire show ! So much fun, and he is so poetic at the same time ! Wonderful.

He started this tour in Australia with a big success and this is some of the sketches he performed on Monday nigh as well:

"Swedish brunch" Us swedes spent many hours in the kitchen cooking for a bunch of people: a so called "Swedish brunch" for everyone the day after the wedding. So much fun !  We even brought the snaps from Sweden !

Primarily to this trip was to attend my dear friend Kajsa's wedding ! The wedding was beautiful ! The location was perfect by the river and everyone was just so nice and having a good time ! 

We also went to a Bob Dylan concert, went camping in the woods, saw many beautiful places including some of the location spots from the Twin Peaks series. All in all it was a really good two weeks of travel with lots of fun and new people and just having a great time !

Since I got accepted to the Umeå School of Architecture this fall I'm SUPER THRILLED but it's still so unreal, I can't help but thinking "what did I get myself into"This is going to be tough I'm sure but I accept the challenge. Looks like my life will be pretty busy and eventful the upcoming 5 (!!) years ! I'm still trying to figure out what literature I need to get before school starts but some how I can't find it anywhere ?
The acceptance letter I received a couple of days ago made it so much more official. Ever since I got the first email saying: I got in, I've spent an awful lot of time thinking could this actually be the real deal, me going to University and above all Architecture ? All I can say I'm super excited but with almost equal the anxiety !

There will be more time to brood over this when I get back from America. Can't believe I'm leaving in less than two weeks ! I printed all the travel documents today, I still need to get the Visa fixed and all, but we will fix that today !

Can't believe how fast this summer went by, kind of scareeh !

Jämtland: Åre: Duved ! -2012

Drove 7 hours southwest-ish to get to Åre, Duved ! A travelling pack of four excited outbackers to meet up with the remaining  two already located,  to complete the troop of a six-pack = le famille de ahlqvist !
True story we have an on going project of building a cabin beautifully located in the village of Duved, literally right on the skiing-sloap ! My little brother and dad had already been up there for a couple of days before the rest of us; my sister, older brother, mom and I arrived. My sister and I managed to stay one week before we decided that we'd got a big enough dose of wilderness that I think we will make due for the rest of the year..to say the least.. Don't get me wrong, i L.O.V.E it up there, but there's nothing the wilderness could ever offer against a warm cosy ((bug-free)) bed indoor ! Let's say it will take a while before I sleep in a tent again....! Can't wait for the cabin to actually be done so we can finally spend some winters up there going snowboarding !! yeehey !!

Fika på högste ! And yes my socks were soaking wet from stepping right through the swampy terrain at times. Very unavoidably !

It took us about 5 hours from start to the "top" and back again, including a 40 minute "Fika"-break ! Such a perfect day ! Så här ska man ha det när man har det som sämst.

Daytrip to Glösa

My sister and I drove a couple of miles north of Åre to reach a little village called Glösa where we were to  find 7000 years old rock carvings of what it appears to be some kind of elk. Pretty amazing if you ask me.  

 All in all it was a great trip but I'm glad to be home.
I'm excited to see what the future holds for me, the outcome of this. All I can say is that I'm super nervous !!

Summer vacay at last !!

Whoho my work here is done ! Still, it doesn't really feels like it, I mean it doesn't even feel like a Friday use to !
Must be because I'm so tired of everyythinng !!
I'm glad though that summer is finally here ! Now all what's missing is that perfect summer weather we had a week ago, please come back and stay for a while will you ?!

I have lots of plans for the summer ! It will be hard to fit everything in ! But I like it !!
And did I tell you my Dolce & Gabbana fragrance has arrived all ready ???!!! ! Fabulous !

Hitting The Beach !!

Frida and I decided to take a trip to the beach yesterday ! First trip of the year ! It was perfect weather and just so relaxing and fun. And I got to wear my new leopard print bikini which I love! :

It's not fun laying down next to my dear friend Frida, she is so tanned already, and it's only the beginning of the summer !! I don't know how she does it !! I was seriously shining in comparison !

MIDSUMMER 2012 !

Once a year we celebrate midsummer, a tradition around the summer solstice ! We say the sun never goes down, it's bright all night. Which is pretty amazing when you think about it. ! We have our special traditions that we do on this particular day: Dance around the big maypole, pick flowers and make little floral wreaths to wear on our heads and of course eat lots of delicious summer food !


In true spirit of the holiday, my sister, mom and I sat off to a close by meadow in the morning to pick summer flowers for our floral wreaths and bouquets:

The day was spent pretty much just hanging around outside in the sun. Working on that nonexistent tan of mine (!)
And of course eating the yummy bbqued food !

WOHO !! I just bought The One fragrance by Dolce and Gabbana from Amazon.com ! Best part is, I didn't spend a single cent..!! I used my 50 dollar gift card I received from my Ex-host family as a Christmas gift last year !! whiwhiw ..I'm totally obsessed with this fragrance and I'm so thrilled I get to wear it later this summer !! yeehey.. oh the joy..!

Finally Friday ! I've been longing for this day to come more than usual on a regular week ! Work this week has just been too hectic ! So glad it's over ! I actually managed to score a job position 'til the end of June, which feels pretty good right now. I need get that cash flow going !

No plans for ce week-end yet but what I do know is that I want to go see this one super bad, like tonight I heart Johnny Depp !

Valborg !

Me, my brother and grandmother walked around campus to see the big bonfire and hear the studentchoir  sing and welcome the spring. A kind of odd tradition when you think about it. Loads of people were out and it was so nice that the sun decided to join us as well ! All in all I had a very mellow and cosy night with not too much going on. I worked all day in a kindergarten so I was tired even before the night had started ..

Today's update :
I've catch a cold AGAIN ! This is the super down part of being a sub-teatcher in kindergarten schools. You are basically sick all year around ! It makes me so incredible depressed, not being able to earn money / being bored to death at home. I'm doing the best I can trying to find those small things that makes me happy during these long eventless days.. Pretty please make me recover sooner than laterrr !

I'm also getting nuts thinking about my summer plans. what I'm suppose to do / have to do !  It's not easy to squeeze everything in there. ! arghhh !

Give a little.

Things I like to do just to avoid doing something I HAVE to do:
- Learn how to play an entire song including all the words of the lyrics on piano/guitarr !

- Reorganize my entire wardrobe (Note: Not on my "to do -list" )

- Taking incredible long outdoor walks (indoor walk s? )

-Spend embarrassing long hours in front of youtube !

- Watch not one but two or three movies !

- Stare into the wall.

- Listen to music.

As you can tell of all the above, very time consuming activities.

Question is: What do I need to ? if not any of the above ?? Genious... !

Finally I'm taking the time doing the things I enjoy the most: Simply drawing. A pen and a blank sheet of paper and the rest is up to your imagination. I myself like doing all sorts of portraits. Preferably in black and white !

I've got work tomorrow whehey ! And it's Friday Friday !

Weekend getaway ! Destination: Florence, Italy !

First night in Florence, in front of the Dome (Doumo) You can get the excitment out of my facial expression !

David by Michelangelo at the Uffizi Museum. So IMPRESSIVE !! Seeing the staty of David was definitely one of the many highlights of the trip ! Note: All the statues in the Uffizi Galleria looks exactly like the younger version of my dad , crazy resemblance !! Haha, I couldn't stop laughing.

Another Highlight was seeing the Birth of Venus by the great Antonio Botticelli (of course any kind of photographing strictly prohibited, that goes for the David as well but I couldn't help myself). Also at the Uffizi. So beautiful.

Enjoying "the last supper" in Italy, Penne with Pesto and of course red Wine. Delicious. Merci as my dad would say ! hahha.

Me going to Italy was to meet my old host family who has transfered here for a two month period of time. It was so great to meet the kids again, they were so much older, personalities the exact same !
It was a very intense weekend with a whole bunch of Museums and sightseeing. I think Iprobably walked enough for the rest of the year I might say. I'm in love with Italy and to describe Florence in one world would simply be: Impressive !
